Time Trial - Enduro XC - WVMBA Race

Friday's soft trail conditions withheld a new record on the time trial despite some heavy hitters among the 20 riders starting.

Saturday's point to point crossing on the Kanawha Trace didn't  leave a lot of time for trail shots.   Trying to keep the group together as well as take advantage of being the only one at the front that knew for sure where to go.  A' holes diligent duty on the back of the pack rounded out the guide service for the day.     Over 16 miles of self navigated timed stages kept it interesting as well as keeping the group moving along.   The trailhead at mile 31 was accessed at 11:15 AM after an hour warm-up route on some old county roads.  With less than 7 miles to go and a cool evening rain looking to settle in, the crew that knew the route and took in the Adahi shortcut completed the planned route at 6:30 for a crossing time of 7 hours and 45 minutes.  A splintered lead group awoke from their nap in a barn and followed the Trace to the finish at 7PM.  Fifteen riders took in part of the KT and 12 rider finished the either the planned or the bushy "stout"  route.

The dirt Derby  times from Sunday's WVMBA Series Championship race where applied to those that completed all three days of riding.  Congratulants to those that finished in the GC -
